After leaving the duel against Sean O'Malley in the UFC 264, Louis Smolka explained the reasons for his absence from next Saturday's card (10). In a post on his 'Instagram', the bantamweight fighter (up to 61,2kg) declared that he had an infection and was therefore banned by doctors from entering the Octagon.

“I had an infection and unfortunately the doctors banned me from fighting. It sucks but we have to be responsible for my health, the health of my training partners and opponent. I understand that Sean (O'Malley) is ready to stay on the card, so I wish him the best. I’m sure we’ll see you soon,” said Smolka.
In his second stint in the UFC, Louis seeks to achieve regularity in his results to get closer to the top-15 in the category. After his return in 2018, the 'Last Samurai' won three duels and lost two. His last fight was in December 2020 when he knocked out Jose Alberto Quiñonez in the second round.
After Smolka's departure, Ultimate acted quickly and called up the debutant Kris moutinho to measure forces against Sean O'Malley. The combat will open the main part of the fights of the UFC 264.
