After M-1 Global, a company that looks after the interests of Fedor Emelianenko, announced that the Russian would fight on June 21st, without informing his opponent, several speculations were launched.
One of the names mentioned is that of a Brazilian who played for the UFC. Rolles Gracie, who was defeated by Joey Beltran at UFC 109, should be Fedor's next opponent. On his Twitter account, Rolles confirmed the negotiation.
"Where there's smoke there's fire. My manager is negotiating with M1. We are really close to making this fight against Fedor happen.”
Since being fired from the UFC, when he lost the only fight he had in the organization, Rolles has won three fights, the last against veteran Bob Sapp at ONE FC 2. The Brazilian has an MMA record of 6-1, with six victories by submission and a defeat by technical knockout.
