With Dana's statement, the options of fighters who have a contract with Ultimate and would be able to face junior gypsy became scarce. The most viable alternative would be to remove the Brazilian Fabricio Werdum of the UFC 147 card, in Rio de Janeiro, and place him as Cigano's opponent. However, the fight would not have commercial appeal in the United States.

Another possibility is to promote a possible duel against Dan Henderson. The American, who operates in the middleweight and light heavyweight categories, stated that he would be interested in facing Cigano for the UFC belt.

Despite the problems in finding a challenger, White reaffirmed that Cigano is retained in the UFC 146 fight program, an event scheduled to take place on May 26, in Las Vegas, in the United States.
