McGregor, who has already proven to be a great cause of controversy in the MMA world, has recently started accumulating controversy outside the world of fighting. In addition to this case, this is the third time that the Irishman has had problems with the law.

In April 2018, Conor caused a disturbance after breaking, with a wheelbarrow, the window of a bus carrying Ultimate athletes, in the parking lot of the Barclays Center, in New York (USA). The case occurred after UFC 223's 'Media Day'. Among the passengers was the Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov. After the episode, Conor handed himself in to the local police. The Irishman, however, was not convicted, accepting an agreement to carry out community work and thus shelving the case.

Another case involving the former featherweight (up to 65,8kg) and lightweight (up to 70,3kg) champion is the accusation of sexual harassment against a woman in Ireland, in December 2018. According to the victim, the case would have occurred in a hotel near Dubin (Irish capital). After the accusation, Mcgregor was detained in January of this year and, after giving a statement, was released. The case remains under investigation.

Recently, McGregor announced his retirement, but a few days later, he backtracked and decided to remain in MMA.
