Cairo Rocha wins Kamikaze Cup; Raggi Nayme wins the absolute

Champion in the purple belt last year, fighter Cairo Rocha made his debut in the brown belt and won the title of the 9th Kamikaze Jiu-Jitsu Cup, held this Sunday, in Ribeirão Preto. In the decision, he submitted Marcos Paulo, from Uberaba, who had been champion in 2010 in the same category.

After venturing into MMA, Cairo returned to his roots in jiu-jitsu and was quick with the trigger. In the semifinal, against Benedito Augusto de Lima, he needed just two minutes to apply an armbar. In the final, it took him four minutes to get a chokehold on his opponent.

“It was a victory of overcoming, because I injured my left hand in the first fight and it was very sore. That’s why I was really excited when I finished the decision”, celebrated master athlete Alexandre Zaneti.
