It was painful, but Jennifer maia achieved his first victory in Ultimate. On the preliminary card of UFC Nashville, event held this Saturday (23), in the USA, the Brazilian fought a tough battle against Alexis Davis, but left the octagon with the triumph in the unanimous decision of the judges (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

With the result, Jennifer achieves her 16th victory as a professional and recovers from the setback against Liz Carmouche in her UFC debut. Davis is now suffering his ninth defeat as a professional, the second in a row in Ultimate.
The fight
Even lower than the rival, Jennifer maia found the distance in the first movements and showed more technique in the stand-up fight. The native of Paraná worked with jab and direct combinations, which marked the face of Alexis Davis. On the other hand, the Canadian tried to use the clinch in search of a takedown, but the Brazilian quickly returned to the center of the cage. Jennifer came close to ending the fight when she escaped the clinch hold and threw some great punches at Davis. The Canadian bent her knee and went to the ground afterwards, but the Brazilian asked her to get up.
In the second round, the Brazilian continued to work better on her feet, but Davis was in danger with kicks. In an attempt to respond in kind, Jennifer's blow was blocked and she fell to the ground below. On top, the Canadian dominated the partial and even risked ending the fight with an armbar, but it was defended.
In the third round, with the duel tied, the athletes returned ready to define the fight. Davis worked with kicks and threw more strikes, however, the Brazilian was more precise and forceful. The fighter from Paraná abused the jabs, which left her rival's face very red. In the end, almost out of desperation, Alexis still tried a takedown, but was successful.
