With the result, Hannibal scored his 13th career victory – his fourth in the UFC – and remains undefeated in the organization. In turn, Roberts is experiencing his third defeat as a professional – he has 16 victories.

The fight

Specialist in the ground game, Claudio Hannibal surprised at the beginning of the fight and balanced the fight on his feet. However, he quickly makes a good transition and takes down Danny Roberts. On top, the jiu-jitsu black belt was sovereign. He moved to half guard, reached mount and even a 100kg position. In the final seconds of the partial, when the Brazilian tried to lock in the submission, he was swept and ended the round on the bottom. The Englishman connected with some elbows from above, but it wasn't enough to turn the round around.

In the second round, Hannibal didn't want to take any chances on his feet and immediately looked for a takedown, but he was surprised by a counter blow and ended up bending his knee. However, he was quick to attack the Englishman's legs and take the fight to the ground. On top, Claudio was once again dominant. He only suffered some fright when, again, he attacked a choke and let Roberts reverse the position.

In the third round, willing to make up the difference, Danny Roberts He went up and in the first few moves he managed to knock down the Brazilian. He got on the ground and even connected some punches. But the Brazilian attacked a heel hook and got out of the pressure. Afterwards, the Brazilian attacked with an armbar and the controversy began. The Englishman lifted the Brazilian and threw him to the ground, but he didn't release the blow. Afterwards, he screamed and the referee interpreted it as a verbal withdrawal. Roberts was unhappy, saying he screamed for strength and not for pain. But the Brazilian's victory was maintained.
