The North American also praised the new talents in the category, such as the Brazilians Johnny Walker e Thiago Marreta, but showed confidence to face all the new promises in the division.

“I’m excited for the future of light heavyweight…. I'm going to have to face all the guys. The confidence I had at 23 years old facing (Mauricio) Shogun Rua only grew. I believe in myself a lot and no one said it should be easy, but I feel like I will find a way to make it happen,” he added.
