After passing through Fortaleza, in Brazil, and Phoenix, in the United States, the UFC arrives in the city of Prague, in the Czech Republic, this Saturday afternoon, February 23rd. The main fight of the event will feature Brazilians in action in the octagon. Thiago Marreta face the polish Jan Blachowicz in the light heavyweight category. If the Brazilian wins, he will be close to fighting for the belt.
Carioca, Marreta, 35 years old, has not lost in three clashes. The most recent victory came at UFC 231, against Californian Jimi Manuwa, on December 8 last year, with a punch knockout in the second round. The athlete from the Marvelous City is full of gas and fresh. In a record of 26 duels, there were 20 positive results and 6 negative results. Of these triumphs, 14 were achieved by knockout, 5 by judge's decisions and 1 by submission.
On the other side of the fight, Blachowicz, also 35 years old, is another fighter who has a very positive record. He has 23 wins and 7 losses, being undefeated in 4 fights, 1 more than his opponent. His last performance was in September last year, against the Ukrainian Nikita Krylov at UFC 136.
You can see that both athletes have good numbers. In bookmakers there is no favorite. According to the oddsshark, both the Brazilian, 7th in the light heavyweight ranking, and the Pole, in 4th place, pay R$1,90 for every R$1,00 invested by you. It will be this duo's first meeting in the UFC.
Other Brazilians in the octagon
As usual, our representation is not restricted to just one athlete. We will have more Brazilians in action, in addition to Marreta. For the heavyweight, Marcos Foot, 33 years old, born in the city of Ribeirão Pires, in the interior of São Paulo, is seen, according to the odds, with more chances of beating the Dutchman Stefen Struve, 31 years old, earning R$1,72, while the European pays R$2,10. Struve, with 28 wins and 11 losses, has not won and has 3 commitments. Pezão, on the other hand, is coming off a victory in November 2018 over Poland's Adam Wieczorek at UFC 230. Our compatriot's record is 16 wins, 1 draw and 5 losses.
Michel Prazeres, 37, from Pará, lives up to his nickname “Tractor”. That's because he only has 2 defeats in 28 fights, with 26 wins. It couldn't be any different, with favoritism being on his side. The guy makes a profit of R$ 1,25, indicates the oddsshark. His opponent, Austrian Ismail Naurdiev, just 22 years old, also only has 2 setbacks, however, he fought less and won 17 times. The young man of Russian origin is quoted at R$4,00. It will be his debut in a UFC competition. Inexperience can speak louder.
Carlos Diego, 34 years old from Amazonas, is the underdog in his duel, which will be against Russian Rustam Khabilov in the lightweight division. The Brazilian, despite being seen as an underdog, has a good record, with 14 wins and 2 losses. Recently, in December, it surpassed kyle nelson with a technical knockout, via punches, at UFC 231. Khabilov's favoritism, quoted at R$1,66, is due to 6 consecutive victories. The Russian representative's record is also very attractive, with 23 positive results and 3 negative results.
