The confrontation between Amanda nunes e Holly holm for the women's bantamweight title was considered to take place in the UFC 237, on May 11th. The two-time Ultimate champion revealed that she will not fight at the event, as the preparation time would be insufficient.

“It’s going to get difficult. I'm thinking about fighting towards the end of the year, around November or December. Now I'm here in Brazil, organizing some family things, I wouldn't have time to prepare properly for May”, Amanda told the Combate channel website.

Holm is the only former UFC bantamweight and featherweight champion that Nunes has not yet faced. Amanda won Miesha Tate, Ronda Rousey, Germain de Randamie e Chris Cyborg. For this reason, the Brazilian believes that the duel with the North American makes sense.

“I want to defend my belt first because when I moved up I left the category at a standstill. I think it makes sense that it's a fight against Holly holm, the only former champion I haven't faced. Afterwards, I think a rematch against Cyborg would be cool. And then I'll stop. I don't even know how many fights I have, after the next fight we'll renegotiate. I think I should do two more and retire. And if I feel like fighting, I’ll come back”, explained Leoa.

Amanda nunes made world MMA history by knocking out Chris Cyborg at 51 seconds in the co-main event of UFC 232 in December of last year. Thus, the Lioness won the featherweight title and became the first female champion of two Ultimate categories. The Bahian has been on a roll with eight straight wins in the organization and hasn't lost since September 2014 at UFC 178.
