The controversial Mike Pierce provoked and asked to face a Brazilian athlete in the UFC, saying that the confrontation would be an easy victory for his record. And after the challenge, the North American had his wish granted this Tuesday. Pierce will face Carlos Eduardo “Tá Danado” from Ceará at UFC on FX 3. The event is scheduled to take place on June 8th, but the location has not yet been defined by the organization.

With a record of 13 wins and five losses, Pierce recently sparked controversy on Twitter by stating that he would like to face any Brazilian athlete in the welterweight division (up to 77 kg.).

PUBLICITY:

"I'm ready! Are there any Brazilians up to 77kg or have they all jumped to 84kg (middleweight category)? I’m looking for an easy fight”, wrote the American. “Looking for: no gas, weak striking and limited ground game. Brazilians, please send your resumes to Joe Silva (UFC matchmaker)”, concluded Pierce.

Despite the provocation, the North American is coming off a defeat in Ultimate. He was surpassed by Josh koscheck, in a split decision by the judges, at UFC 143, an event that took place in February this year.

PUBLICITY:

In turn, “Tá Danado” returns to the Octagon after a serious injury that kept him away from fighting for more than 12 months. The Brazilian, who has a professional record of nine wins and one defeat, had the only setback of his career in his last appearance when he was overcome by Jake ellenberger at UFC 126, in February 2011.
