charles do brox will face Swede David Teymur on the main card of UFC Fortaleza this Saturday (02). The Brazilian returned to lightweight in April 2017 and has since won four wins in five fights. Despite the good phase in the category, the fighter from São Paulo is thinking about returning to the featherweight division.

In an interview with the MMA Brasil website, Do Bronx revealed that he wants to prove to Ultimate that he can weigh 66kg and return to fight in the category. From January 2012 to November 2016, Charles remained in the featherweight division, but four times the Brazilian was unable to reach 66kg and the fights were at catchweight. That's why the organization asked the São Paulo native to move up to the lightweight division.
“I wanted one more opportunity at featherweight, to see how I feel. […] At light weight everything is fine, I can make weight well. I just need a chance. I just need time, three months. If the UFC called me to fight one more time in the featherweight division, so I could make weight, show that I can do it. In the last one, I was seventy, but I weighed sixty-eight kilos, so I can arrive well and put on a great fight”, said Do Bronx.
At 29 years old, Charles holds the record for submissions in the UFC and in Fortaleza he will have his twenty-third fight at the biggest event in the world. Even with so many dreams realized in MMA, the Brazilian assured that he has many achievements to achieve in Ultimate.
“When I signed with the UFC, I dreamed of being one of the best. I dreamed of planting fruit and harvesting it. At 28 years old, I'm the greatest finisher in the history of Ultimate with so many guys fighting, like Demian Maia, Rani. So for me, a community kid, to be the greatest finisher in Ultimate, I'm happy. There is still a lot to happen, a lot of fights to come. So I’m happy”, concluded Charles.
