Confrontation between Holly Holm and Aspen Ladd removed from UFC 235

Ultimate held the UFC 235 press conference on Thursday night (31) in Las Vegas. All the fighters from the main fights on the card were present, except Holly holm. Franchise president Dana White clarified the former champion's absence by announcing the withdrawal of her confrontation with Aspen ladd of the event in March.

“This fight will not happen. We are working on another fight for both of them,” White explained.

The UFC commander did not explain the reason for canceling the women's duel. However, Holm's manager Lenny Fresquez stated that the UFC 235 fight's withdrawal is related to negotiations between Holly and Ultimate to renew his contract.

“We are negotiating a contract extension now. Holly was looking forward to this fight, she was looking forward to fighting Aspen ladd. She is very disappointed that this fight is not happening, but she understands that this is a business. We are in the middle of these negotiations now, and everyone thought it would be better to get through this,” said Fresquez in an interview with the North American channel ESPN.

At 37 years old, Holm is coming off a victory over Megan anderson in June last year at UFC 225. The former champion is one of the candidates to face Amanda nunes for the rooster title.
