the focus of Conor McGregor appears not to have left Floyd Mayweather since 2017. Temporarily suspended from the UFC due to the widespread fight at UFC 229, 'Notorious' challenged Tenshin Nasukawa, the boxer's last rival, to an 'exhibition fight' in MMA in Tokyo (Japan), in the first half of 2019.
“I want to go to Tokyo to face Tenshin Nasukawa in a mixed martial arts exhibition fight. Before this summer. Please organize this. Honestly, the champion champion”, Conor posted on his Twitter and mentioned the company that manages his career and the UFC.
I wish to go to Tokyo to face Tenshin Nasukawa in a Mixed Martial Arts exhibition bout.
Before this summer.
Please arrange this, this instant.
Yours sincerely
The champ champ. @ufc @ParadigmSM— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) 7 January 2019
Mayweather returned to the ring against Tenshin Nasukawa at RIzin 14, December 31st in Saitama. Floyd knocked out the young fighter in the first round. As the fight was an ‘exhibition fight’, the duel did not enter the professional record of any of the athletes. The duel would not have an official result if it went through the three scheduled rounds, as there were no side judges in the fight.
