Strawweight Maria Ribeiro couldn't ask for a better debut in Brave Combat Federation. Coming from jiu-jitsu and fighting against a striker, the Brazilian knocked out Micol di Segni in the first round of the fight, valid for the 20th edition of Brave, held this Saturday (22), in Hyderabad, India.

The “Wonder Woman” didn’t bother studying her opponent and, as soon as the duel started, she went after it. Using straight blows and moving forward, Maria stunned di Segni, but knew how to be patient and retreated when she realized that the Italian had recovered. Soon after, however, the Brazilian managed to connect good blows and went back to the attack, from where she only came out when referee Marc Goddard interrupted the fight.

After the fight, Maria dedicated the victory to her master Cristiano Marcello and the CM System team and gave an emotional speech about increasing the space for women in MMA.

“I come from the best academy in Brazil and the world. I am very proud to represent Cristiano Marcello and CM System. I hope you have seen what women are capable of today. I want to see more women dedicate themselves to MMA so that we can increasingly show our value around the world”, she commented.

In the main fight, Khamzat Shimaev took no notice of Sidney Wheeler. Even though he accepted the fight nine days ago and at a higher weight, the Swede knocked out the American in less than a minute and established himself once and for all as one of the main promises in world MMA.
