Johnson and Alvarez will debut at One Championship in March 2019

Demetrious will face Yuya Wakamatsu in the flyweight division and Eddie will face Timofey Nastyukhin in the lightweight division on March 31st in Tokyo, Japan

Demetrious Johnson and Eddie Alvarez already have a date to debut in One Fighting Championship. The former champions were selected for the card on March 31st in Tokyo, Japan. ‘Mighty Mouse’ will face Yuya Wakamatsu in the flyweight GP. While ‘Underground King’ faces Timofey Nastyukhin in the lightweight tournament.

Demetrious Johnson remained in the UFC after seven years with the organization. His debut in the franchise was in February 2011 when he beat Norifumi Yamamoto at UFC 216. In September 2012, ‘Mighty Mouse’ won the inaugural flyweight belt with a victory over Joseph Benavidez. Since then, there have been 11 title defenses, a UFC record. The North American lost the division title in August this year after being surpassed by Henry Cejudo. In his professional MMA career, the fighter has 31 fights with 27 wins, three setbacks and one draw.

During his time in the UFC, Eddie had four victories and three setbacks in eight fights. Previously, he made history at Bellator by winning the organization's gold belt. At 34 years old, Alvarez has a record with 29 positive results, six negative results and one no contest.

The One FC event in Japan will also feature a clash between champions Angela Lee and Xiong Jing Nan for the women's strawweight title. Aung La N Sang puts the middleweight belt up for grabs against Ken Hasegawa. The fighters already faced each other in June this year and ‘Burmese Python’ came out on top.
