The fight

As soon as the gong sounded Edson Barboza e Dan Hooker opened their arsenal of blows. The Brazilian connected with several leg kicks and the New Zealander tried to respond, but the same forcefulness. With Edson's shots coming in full, Hooker left the defense close to his face open and a direct shot from the Brazilian made the New Zealander almost fall to the canvas.

In the second round, the Brazilian repeated the strategy from the previous round. He fired several kicks at Hooker's knee, whose base of support was already completely compromised. Even so, with great courage, the New Zealander tried to move forward to pressure the Brazilian, leaving no space for Barboza's feared kicks. However, every time his rival approached, Edson fired knees from the clinch in Muay Thai.

The end of the punishment came after Edson fired a round shot that hit the New Zealander squarely. Hooker still tried to resist, but after some kicks and knees, the Brazilian landed a punch to the liver that made the New Zealander fall.
