Edgar asks for a rematch against Henderson, but Dana White wants the former champion against Aldo

the american Frankie Edgar lost the UFC lightweight belt this Saturday, after being overcome by Ben henderson in the main fight of UFC 144, an event held in Saitama, Japan. At the press conference after the fight, still unhappy with the setback, Edgar believes he won the duel, but does not take away from his opponent's merits.

“I think I did enough to win, but anyway, congratulations to Henderson. I don't want to take anything away from him. I managed to knock him down a few times and managed to land more blows,” said Frankie, who asked for a rematch against Ben.

“I'm not trying to take away anyone's turn who deserves it, but I had to do two immediate rematches,” he said referring to the fights against B.J. Penn e Gray Maynard, the two belt defenses made by him.

In turn, Dana White, president of the UFC, has other plans for Edgar. The top hat doesn't hide his desire to see the fighter in the featherweight division, which would place him as a possible challenger for the Brazilian's belt José Aldo.

“I've been saying this for a long time. I would love to see Edgar in the featherweight category. But at the end of the day, it's his decision. He would be a great opponent for José Aldo in a title fight. I think a fight between the two would be really fun”, said the top hat.

    It would be really interesting...

But Jose Aldo was going to beat Edgar with some ease… The low kicks were going to undermine Edgar…

Look... watching Edgar's fights, I wouldn't say it would be easy... I think they would both be able to win, for Aldo it would be better for him to stay where he is.
