Joanna Jedrzejczyk could make Ultimate history this Saturday (08) at UFC 231, in Toronto (CAN). The former women's strawweight champion will face off against Valentina Shevchenko for the vacant flyweight title in the co-main event. With a victory, the Pole will be the first fighter in the organization's history to win two belts in two weight divisions.

At a UFC 231 press conference, Jedrzejczyk assured that she will become the best fighter of all time in women's MMA with a victory over Shevchenko.

“After the victory on Saturday, I will prove that I am the best of all time in women's MMA. I am really happy. And in this camp I realized how difficult it is and how cutting weight and being on a strict diet for so many weeks can affect your body, your brain and your performance. This camp was different, because I was able to do more. In every camp I'm like: 'Quantity over quality'. But this one was quality and quantity every day”, said Joanna.

Jedrzejczyk won the strawweight belt after winning Carla esparza at UFC 185 in March 2015. She held the division title for two years and made five successful defenses. However, the Polish woman was defeated by Rose namajunas in November 2017 at UFC 217. She had the chance to regain the belt in April of this year at UFC Brooklyn, but was defeated by 'Thug' again.

Even with a possible win of the flyweight belt, the Polish assured that she will return to the women's strawweight category in 2019.

“Strawweights, bow down, I'm coming back next year. What I'm hearing is a rumor that the Jessica Andrade (Bate-Estaca) will face Rose (Namajunas). Rose only has four months to defend the belt, I don't see anyone else fighting for that belt, that's it. Who else? Who's missing? I’ve beaten them all”, she concluded.
