The committee defined that the veteran must remain without contact for 30 days and must remain without training for at least 45 days. If he wants to return to the cage, Liddell will need to apply for a new license from the athletic commission.
Even after announcing his retirement, Ortiz was medically suspended for six months due to possible fractures in his knee and shoulder. To return to fight before then, the fighter will have to be cleared by a doctor.
Gleison Tibau defeated Efrain Escudero by unanimous decision from the judges. The Brazilian was suspended for three months for a possible eyebrow laceration. Furthermore, the California State Athletic Commission recommended that the athlete begin fighting in the over 74kg category.
The Brazilian's opponent received a 180-day medical suspension due to a possible broken hand.
