Tito Ortiz knocked out Chuck Liddell at 4:24 of the first round of the main fight of the Golden Boy Promotions MMA event, on Sunday (25), in Inglewood (USA). After almost 12 years since the last confrontation, the 'Bad Boy from Huntington Beach' managed to avenge the two defeats suffered by 'Iceman'. In an interview after the triumph, Tito stated that if he had been Liddell's manager he would not have let him fight again.

“If I were his manager, then I [would] not let him come out of retirement. I would have told Chuck, 'No, we're going to get you a job. Let’s promote your name and get you hired and do other ways to make money,'” Ortiz said in a post-event interview.

However, the 'Bad Boy from Huntington Beach' admitted that when a former fighter decides to return to fight there is nothing he can do. “You can’t hold someone back. If they feel like they want to continue fighting, then you let them go on their own,” said Tito.

Ortiz doesn't know if his rival will return to retirement after the defeat. However, Tito Liddell expects his opponent to receive a more favorable fight if he decides to return to the cage.

PUBLICITY:

“I don't want to take anything away from Chuck. If he wants to compete, then let him compete. Maybe not as a main event, of course. But let’s find him someone who will be a fit for him, because I’m not a fit fight.”
