Conor McGregor was defeated by Khabib Nurmagomedov in the fourth round of the UFC 229 main event in October. Even so, his 'quote' remains high in the world of martial arts. In an interview with the North American podcast The True Geordie, the Irishman's trainer, John Kavanagh said that 'Notorious' received an offer of US$5 million to do a three-round exhibition fight against a kickboxing fighter.

“I'm going to tell you something funny. I got a message from a guy who said a Chinese kickboxer was offering $5 million to do a three-round exhibition fight against Conor. He was going to give this amount as a guarantee. It didn't seem like he was joking. I receive millions of messages like this every day, but we never pay much attention to them. But this guy is someone with a lot of connections in the fight world, and the offer was concrete. But I know Conor wouldn't fight. The message was very unusual. And, like I said, it was a real offer. I know this boxing promoter very well, he is very well known, and I wouldn’t come with an offer like this if it weren’t real,” said Kavanagh.
Despite pocketing more than US$55 per second of combat, McGregor refused the duel. Conor's focus is on a rematch with Khabib or a confrontation that leads to a reunion with his arch-rival.
McGregor will have his UFC future decided at a Nevada Athletic Commission hearing on December 10th. Conor and Nurmagomedov were summoned to participate in the trial that will analyze their participation in the UFC 229 mess.
