Daniel Cormier planned to end his career in March 2019 upon turning 40. However, UFC president Dana White is not sure that the fighter will stick to the plan. In an interview with the North American channel TMZ Sports, the boss stated that he would like to delay the champion's retirement so he can end the trilogy with Jon Jones.

“I don't know [if Cormier's last fight will be next year]. That's what I would like. I would like to see Jones and Cormier fight at heavyweight. Cormier's team wants him to retire now. I hope we can get three more fights out of him,” said White.
Cormier expressed interest in fighting Jon Jones e Brock Lesnar before his retirement. However, the champion assured that he will not postpone his plans to hang up his gloves in March 2019 to face any of his rivals. Thus, Ultimate will have four months to hold the last fight of 'DC's' career.
At 39 years old, Cormier has had 23 fights in his professional MMA career, including 21 triumphs, one setback and one unsuccessful fight. Daniel suffered his first defeat against Jones in January 2015. In the second meeting, Jon knocked out 'DC', but the result was changed to a 'no contest' because of doping.
