UFC debuts in Buenos Aires with Brazilian squad and 'Argentino Xente Boa' in the main fight

Argentinian Santiago Ponzinibbio has the main fight of the night against Neil Magny; Six Brazilians are on the UFC Buenos Aires card this Saturday (17)

The largest MMA organization in the world will land for the first time on Argentine soil this Saturday night (17). UFC FIght Night Buenos Aires arrives ‘in its native lands’ with xx fights. In the main fight of the night, the venue Santiago Ponzinibbio, who was revealed on TUF Brasil 3 and became famous for the phrase 'I'm Argentine, but I'm good', faces the North American Neil Magny.In the co-main event Ricardo Lamas will face Darren Elkins at featherweight.

The UFC Buenos Aires fight program features the participation of a small ‘Brazilian squad’. The country will be represented by six athletes on the show: In the main program, Poliana Botelho tries to maintain invincibility against Cynthia calvillo, Cezar Mutant faces Ian Heinisch e Johnny Walker makes his UFC debut against Khalil rountree. In the preliminary program, Anderson Berinja faces Nad Narimani, Alexandre pantoja faces Ulka Sasaki and Michel Trator will face Bartosz Fabinski.

Home owner Santiago Ponzinnibio will be committed to leading the first card in Ultimate's history in Argentina. Furthermore, the fighter is the first Argentine athlete to be part of the largest MMA organization in the world.

Anderson ‘Berinja’ will be the first Brazilian athlete to perform on Argentine soil on the preliminary card. The 33-year-old from São Paulo will make his Ultimate debut and will face Nad Narimani. The confrontation is valid for featherweights. In seven years as a professional, he has 19 wins and six defeats in his career.

flyweight Alexandre pantoja He is the second Brazilian athlete to enter the Octagon in Buenos Aires. The Brazilian will face the Japanese Ulka Sasaki. Currently ‘Cannibal’ occupies 10th position in the fly category ranking. The fighter from Rio de Janeiro has a record of 19 wins and three losses in his career. In his last appointment he surpassed Brandon Moreno by unanimous decision, in May of this year.

Michel ‘Trator’ Prazeres ends Brazil’s participation in the preliminary card. The man from Pará faces the Polish Bartosz Fabinski at welterweight. With seven consecutive victories, the Brazilian fighter is going through a great phase in his career. After having trouble making the lightweight weight limit, he moved up to the 77kg division in his last fight, where he defeated Zak Cummings by split decision at UFC Chile.

Poliana Botelho is the first Brazilian on the UFC Buenos Aires main card. The 29-year-old athlete will face Cynthia calvillo by women's straw weights. The Nova União fighter won her two UFC fights against Pearl Gonzalez and Syuri Kondo. The Minas Gerais native has a record of seven wins and one loss as a professional.

TUF Brazil 1 Champion, Cezar Mutant will be responsible for welcoming a newcomer to the UFC. Middleweight faces Ian Heinisch. At 33 years old, the Brazilian has 19 fights on his resume with 13 triumphs and six setbacks. He is coming off two consecutive victories where he overcame Nate Marquardt in November 2017 and submitted Karl Robertson in May this year at UFC 224.

Johnny Walker will make his Ultimate debut in the land of the ‘hermanos’. Discovered on the reality show Contender Brasil, the carioca who lives in England will end Brazilian participation in Argentina. The Brazilian will face the North American Khalil rountree by light heavyweights. His record is 14 wins and three losses as a professional.
