With two representatives on the UFC Moncton preliminary card, held this Saturday (27), in Canada, Brazil had a 50% balance, with one victory and one defeat. The setback came in the second fight on the card, with heavyweight Marcelo Golm succumbing to the game of Arjan Bhullar, who beat him in a unanimous decision from the judges. The triumph, however, came via bantamweight Talita Bernardo, who fought a competitive fight against Sarah Moras, but emerged victorious on points.

After three fights, Talita Bernardo finally managed to achieve her first victory in the UFC. Pressured by two consecutive defeats, the Brazilian had a good performance and beat Sarah Moras by unanimous decision from the judges (29×28, 29×28, 30×27), avoiding the risk of a possible dismissal. With good standing strikes and an up-to-date takedown game, the Brazilian controlled much of the fight, even wobbling the Canadian at times. At 31 years old, Talita now has six triumphs and three setbacks in her professional career, while Moras has lost the fourth in nine fights in her record.

Talita started the fight more aggressively, trying to surprise the Canadian, who responded in kind. Sarah connected with a good jab followed by a right that exploded in the Brazilian's face. Talita landed a left cross that opened her opponent's nose to bleed, who continued to be in danger with good combinations. The Brazilian landed a strong high kick on Moras, who swung and quickly stuck and took it to the cage. Talita landed a good takedown and landed on top, trying to land a guillotine choke in the final seconds, but didn't have time to get into position.

Better in the opening five minutes, Talita returned more cautiously for the second stage, trying to surprise with the counterattack. The Brazilian continued to have the advantage on her feet, connecting the best blows on the Canadian, who had a lot of redness on her face, as a result of the blows she had suffered. Just like in the first round, Talita took the takedown, landed on top and tried to get a submission, but again she didn't have enough time to work.

Moras returned to the decisive stage, already applying a takedown to the Brazilian, who fell to the bottom, but reversed her position soon after and ended up on top. In half guard, Talita swept and went north-south, weighing her body against the Canadian, who was moving all the time to get out from underneath. In the final minute, Sarah exploded, stood up and blitzed the Brazilian, taking her to the ground and taking her back. Talita defended herself intelligently and got up, just waiting for the final bell to ring.

Marcelo Golm was unable to get back on the path to victory. Defeated by Timothy Johnson in February this year, the 26-year-old Brazilian suffered the second defeat of his career when he was defeated by Arjan Bhullar in a unanimous decision by the judges (29×28, 29×28, 29×27). Despite having good moments with strong kicks that hurt the Indian's leg, Marcelo got very tired during the fight and was unable to impose his striking game. This was Golm's third fight in Ultimate, who debuted by submitting Christian Colombo, in October 2017. Bhullar, in turn, won his second in three fights in the organization, recovering from the submission he suffered against Adam Wieczorek, last April.

The duel began with the two athletes exchanging jabs in the center of the Octagon. Golm moved more, focusing on strong kicks to the legs of Bhullar, who responded with strong left jabs, causing the Brazilian's nose to bleed. Arjan grew in combat and connected very strong blows on Marcelo, who showed good absorption.

Golm returned to the second stage trying to surprise with a high kick, without success. The Brazilian then took Arjan to the fence and connected with a good knee to the waist line, but was stopped by his opponent afterwards, who took his back off the fence and invented the position. Bhullar tried to take down the Brazilian, who defended himself efficiently and responded with a plastic flying knee, rocking Arjan. The fight became heated in the final two minutes, with Arjan controlling Golm against the cage.

Bhullar returned for the last round in the same way he finished the second, taking Marcelo to the cage. The Brazilian managed to free himself from the position for a few seconds, but was surprised by a plastic fall from the Indian, who fell on top, into his rival's guard. Visibly more tired than Arjan, Marcelo did little to get out of the position, remaining dominated until the end of the fight.
