The UFC already has an official date to return to Brazil – and it will be in the second month of 2019. The location chosen to host the first event of 2019 on Brazilian soil is the city of Fortaleza, at the Olympic Training Center, on February 2nd. In May, Ultimate returns to Curitiba, probably with a numbered edition, with a title fight. The information is from the Combate website.

This will be the second time that the UFC arrives in the capital of Ceará. In March 2017, the city received names such as Vitor belfort, Mauritius Shogun, Edson Barboza, Francisco Massaranduba e Paulo borrachinha, who was making his debut in the organization. Curitiba, in turn, received the card that is considered the most starred in Brazil.
In May 2016, with more than 40.000 people at the Arena da Baixada stadium, of the club Atlético PR, the heavyweight Fabricio Werdum lost the belt after being knocked out by Stipe Miocic, in a show that also had duels between Ronaldo Jacare x Vitor belfort, the debut of Chris Cyborg in the company, and legends like Mauritius Shogun, Rogério Minotouro e Demian Maia, Among others.
The UFC has not yet dropped the hammer, but the expectation is that the third and final Brazilian event in 2019 will be in the city of São Paulo, with no official date yet. With this, Rio de Janeiro will be without an annual event for the second time since Ultimate returned to making cards in Brazil.
