The widespread fight involving the teams of Khabib Nurmagomedov e Conor McGregor at UFC 229, held on October 6, in Las Vegas (USA), directly affected the future of Zubaira Tukhugov, training partner of the lightweight champion and one of those involved in the confusion. The Russian was withdrawn from his featherweight duel against Artem Lobov at UFC Moncton, scheduled for October 27th. In his place, the chosen one went Michael Johnson, according to information provided by the website “TheMacLife”.

A personal friend and training partner of McGregor, Lobov is coming off two consecutive defeats and hasn't fought in a year, having last acted in the defeat to André Fili, in October 2017. Finalist of TUF 22, the Russian-born Irishman has four defeats and two victories in Ultimate. What draws attention, however, is his negative record, something unusual for UFC athletes: there are 13 positive results, 14 negative results, one draw and one fight without result.
Johnson, in turn, also faced Fili in his most recent fight, but triumphed. Before that, he suffered three setbacks in a row, still at lightweight. UFC veteran, The Menace has 10 wins and nine losses in 19 fights at home.
