Whoever thinks that José Aldo has already left its rivalry with Conor McGregor. Almost three years after the confrontation between them, when the Irishman knocked out the Brazilian in just 13 seconds, at UFC 194, Aldo once again asked for a second chance to face his tormentor, who, curiously, no longer performed in the featherweight category (up to 66kg ) from there to here.

This is not the first time that Aldo has asked for a rematch with Conor. Despite the former featherweight champion's insistence, the UFC was never willing to give in to his request. Since then, Notório has played four more times in the organization: they recorded a defeat and a victory against Nate diaz, acting as a welterweight (up to 77kg), won the lightweight belt (up to 70kg) against Eddie Alvarez and last Saturday (06) was submitted by Khabib Nurmagomedov, also as light.

Aldo, in turn, has an identical record, with two triumphs – he overcame Frankie Edgar and knocked out Jeremy Stephens -, and two setbacks, both by technical knockout against Max Holloway. With no plans to return to the octagon, the Nova União athlete has been rehearsing a move up to the lightweight division for some time.
