“The game is full of bums. Not much has changed, so it's good to be back. I have this trilogy with [Nate] Diaz. I'm going to give this man a rematch. He gave me a rematch, so I'm going to give him a rematch. (…) Maybe we can open the 74,8 kg division”, said Notorious.

In addition to the new category, the Irishman believes that Ultimate should create five or six more divisions: 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 79 kg, 84 kg, even 88 kg. In justification, Conor stated that the organization would have other champions, so there would be no problem holding so many events.

The Irishman mentioned UFC 230 which still did not have a main fight defined with less than a month to go until the event. This is because there were no champions available. Thus, the clash for the vacant flyweight title was brought forward and Joanna Jedrzejczyk withdrawal from the duel due to lack of conditions to prepare in time. The title will be contested by Valentina Shevchenko e sijara eubanks.

“More weight divisions, more champions. Why not? (…) See what happened at UFC 230. I think the Diaz-Poirier fight should be the main event. It's great for the women to be there, but if it's a title fight they want, then why not add more divisions, more belts, more champions, more pay-per-views with title fights,” concluded McGregor.

If the UFC opens the new division, Conor could become the first fighter to be champion in three categories. The Irishman won the titles in the featherweight and lightweight categories.
