Anthony Pettis will face Tony Ferguson in the co-main event of UFC 229 this Saturday (06) in Las Vegas (USA). At a press conference, 'Showtime' was asked who would win the main fight of the night, Khabib Nurmagomedov ou Conor McGregor. The fighter said that 'Notorious' will knock out the Russian and win the lightweight belt.

Additionally, Pettis believes that if the UFC hadn't stripped 'Notorious' of his belt, he would still be the division's champion. “I think Conor's victory over Eddie [Alvarez, in 2016] consolidates him as champion more than Khabib's victory over Al [Iaquinta, at UFC 223, in April]. They are facts. The belt is where it is, they have to do it for the business, they have to move forward. But if he was true to the game, Conor would be the champion,” said Showtime.

Showtime also stated that Nurmagomedov dominated the confrontation with Iaquinta through many takedowns and ground and pound. However, Anthony pointed out flaws in the Russian's standing performance.

“We’ve all seen his striking. We saw him in the last fight, against Al, and we saw how he performed. If he comes in like that against Conor? I mean, I think he's the wrong guy to do this, because I'm sure he's motivated, Conor is motivated. My guess is Conor,” concluded Pettis.
