After almost two years away from the octagon, Rogério Minotouro demonstrated in UFC Sao Paulo that still has a lot to offer MMA. “I had an infection in my leg, I went to the hospital, I stayed there for 10 days. It was difficult to return. I was thinking that this wouldn't be the perfect return, with a month to fight, full of antibiotics in the body, but we did a lot of physical preparation work to try to recover and maintain the gas. I got my gas in the last 10 days of training, but I intend to fight again”, said Minotouro.

At 42 years old, Minotouro was asked about retirement and stated that he had considered the possibility. However, after his performance against Alvey, he intends to continue fighting until the end of this year or beginning of 2019.

“I am a fighter who has been fighting for 42 years. There are few people I know (at that age) fighting well, but I certainly have to think about the time of retirement, it's not an out of the question issue, but I believe that with today's performance, the time of retirement will increasingly move away. I intend to fight this year, I will ask to try until the end of the year or at the beginning of next year”, explained Rogério.
