“He (Aldo) is the only one under pressure. He's the champion, he's number one in the rankings and he fights in his city. I'm an underdog, there's no pressure on me. I have nothing to lose,” said Chad during the UFC 142 press conference, held by phone this Wednesday.

On the other hand, Mendes, who is undefeated in MMA with 11 victories, does not hide his qualities and takes shots at members of the Aldo team, who even said that he was not at the Brazilian's level.
“Is Team Aldo saying I’m not ready for a title shot? They don't know how good I am. They never fought with me or trained with me,” he said. “I'm very, very prepared for this fight. He has great takedown defense, but my type of attack will be an explosion on his feet”, added the challenger.
the fight between José Aldo e Chad Mendes will be the main attraction of UFC 142, also called UFC Rio 2, an event scheduled to take place on January 14th, at the HSBC Arena, in the capital of Rio de Janeiro.
