After a year outside the octagon, B.J. Penn his return was announced by Ultimate on Wednesday (12) via the official Twitter. The MMA legend will face Ryan Hall in the lightweight division (up to 70,8kg) at UFC 232. The event will take place on December 29th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (USA).

At the end of 2017, rumors pointed to a new retirement of B.J. Penn after five straight defeats to Nick Diaz, Rory McDonald, Frankie Edgar, Yair Rodríguez and Dennis Siver. In their last confrontation at UFC Oklahoma in June 2017, the organization's former champion was defeated by the German via judge's decision. The 'Prodigy' was once considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world and currently hasn't won in almost eight years in the franchise.
Ryan Hall will also make his return to the UFC after two years away. The 33-year-old fighter was lightweight champion on TUF 22 in 2015. The 'Witch' hasn't fought since his victory over Gray Maynard at The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale in December 2016. In his MMA career, the fighter has seven fights, six victories and one setback.
