Kamaru Usman was chosen by Ultimate to be the reserve in the main fight of UFC 228 between the welterweight champion, Tyron woodley e Darren till. Contrary to the UFC's expectations, 'T-Wood' in an interview with “ESPN” assured that he will not accept to face the Nigerian if the Englishman is prevented from fighting.

“Me and Usman will fight at some point, and I’m all for it. I'll fight him, I'll fight him Mike Perry, all these guys I respect. I like a person who brings true skill sets to the table and is a true fighter. I have this all day. But I’m not going to fight [Usman] without 24 hours’ notice,” Woodley said.

The welterweight champion stated that his training at the moment is focused on facing Till, who is a southpaw fighter. All his preparation and strategy was prepared to fight against the Englishman and he won't change that in five minutes.

“I have been training for a southpaw fighter. Not a weak six-foot-five opponent. Negative. I train, I prepare, I make strategies. I break my opponent into molecules and I drown them. I’m not going to change that in five minutes,” Tyron said.

Being the champion of the category, Woodley believes that his opinion must be considered and an opponent cannot be chosen in such a short time.

“I'm world champion. I deserve due attention. I deserve adequate time to prepare and train for a world title that I have worked so hard for. I'm not going in. I'm not that guy. Go get f** [donald] 'cowboy' [cerrone]. I'm a professional and I'm a champion. If [Usman] wants to fight me, he will be in a full training camp. And I would be happy to accept that offer,” concluded Woodley.

Tyron woodley hasn't fought since July 2017 at UFC 214, when he made his second title defense against Demian Maia. The North American was superior to the Brazilian and won a unanimous decision. T-Wood won the title with a knockout over Robbie Lawler in July 2016 at UFC 201.
