UFC Lincoln: Warlley Alves loses by knockout and halts rise in welterweight

The UFC Lincoln preliminary card will not bring back good memories for Brazilian fighters. With five athletes from the country in the opening program, four left the Octagon with the setback. In the clash that closed the attraction, Warlley alves stopped his rise in welterweight (up to 77,1 kg.) when he was knocked out by James Krause

Before Warlley's setback, Kalindra Faria was submitted by Joanne calderwood, Markus Maluko was surpassed by Andrew Sanchez in the decision, while Iuri Marajó was knocked out by Cory Sandhagen. The only Tupiniquim triumph on the preliminary card was Rani Yaya, who caught the leg of Luke sanders and ended the dispute in the first duel of the show

The fight

Coming from two victories in a row, Warlley was looking for a third victory to climb the division rankings. However, he was stopped in front of James Krause. The Brazilian started well and took down the North American, but lost position when he tried to grab the neck. Krause, in turn, tried to keep the fight in the clinch and even provoked the Brazilian.

Warlley returned ready to end the fight in the second round and opened the game, throwing several punches at Krause, cornered against the bars. However, the North American got out of the pressure in style. He landed a knee and Alves felt it. James took advantage of the moment, went up and threw several punches at the Brazilian until the referee declared a technical knockout.
