Renato Moicano challenges José Aldo for title challenger spot

While Brazilians await the confrontation between Holloway and Ortega, a confrontation that will define the next challenger for the belt could be held

The future of the UFC featherweight division is uncertain, Holloway is out of the Octagon after doctors detected symptoms of concussion before UFC 226. Brian ortega who was the challenger waiting at the front of the line for his chance. Seeking to solve this problem, Renato 'Moicano' challenged José Aldo for a 'title shot eliminator', a fight that will define the next challenger for the category belt.

At 29, Renato Moicano has 15 fights in his career, with 14 wins and one defeat against Ortega in 2017. After the setback, the Brazilian went on a run of two victories over Calvin kattar, in April, and Cub swansonearlier this month.

José Aldo, at 31 years old, he is at the end of his career. The Nova União athlete has 31 fights in his record, 27 wins and four losses. After two defeats to champion Holloway in 2017, the Brazilian returned to the octagon in July this year and knocked out Jeremy Stephens at UFC Calgary.
