'Nova Ronda' surprises rival and wins second professional fight by knockout

Two-time Olympic champion Kayla Harrison showed progress on the floor and defeated Jozette Cotton at PFL 6

Kayla harrison arrived in MMA, in 2018, as 'the new Ronda Rousey' and so far the North American has been following the same path as her compatriot. Two-time Olympic champion in judo, in 2016, in Rio de Janeiro, the blonde announced her migration to MMA after the games and has been doing well. This weekend, she achieved her second triumph as a professional. Kayla knocked out Jozette Cotton at PFL 6, held in Atlantic City (USA).

Recognized for her ability in ground fighting, Harrison showed progress in standing combat. She worked with good kicks and even punished her rival with punches on the ground (see the video below). The triumph came via technical knockout, in the third round, after a sequence of blows opened a deep cut on her rival.

“I felt a lot more comfortable this time, but I'm not too happy about not being able to end the fight early like I wanted. I want everyone to see that I'm the best and I didn't do that today. Jozette was super tough, so I'm not too upset, but I know I have room to improve," she said.  Kayla harrison still in the cage.
