The interim welterweight champion, Colby covington The only thing he sees in his future is a fight for unification for the category title. With this, he must wait for the confrontation between Tyron woodley e Darren till at UFC 228 in September to find out who will hold the belt. In an interview with the website “MMAWeekly”, 'Chaos' explained that the fight against the titleholder should take a while, which is why he would accept a duel against Georges St-Pierre or Nick Diaz.

“There are only a few fights that will make sense to me. Obviously, I'm defending my belt against the No. 1 winner of the fighters – Darrell “Doughboy” Till or Tyquil Woodley – but there are other fights that present themselves. GSP and another guy, the Nate diaz,” Covington explained.
The first opponent on Covington's list is former welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre. The Canadian has already demonstrated the possibility of a return at UFC 230 on November 03rd or UFC 231 on December 08th.
“GSP, that syrup sucker, he might come get this. He thinks he's the greatest welterweight of all time. I have one more thing to say about this. I will destroy it. I’m going to send him back to Canada crying,” Chaos teased.
The second option is the former Strikeforce, WEC and IFC welterweight champion, Nick Diaz. "Nick Diaz It's another guy. If he stops hitting on women, he might come too. He’s probably going to go broke soon because he’s in prison and he’s spending all his money on drugs,” Colby teased.
Covington has on his list of possible opponents arch-rivals, lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov and former two-division champion, Conor McGregor who face each other at UFC 229.
“There are some lightweights – Khabib [Nurmagomedov] and Conor [McGregor] – if they want to claim another belt, I have the interim welterweight belt. So these fights can present themselves”, concluded Covington.
