In a main card at UFC 227 with three Brazilian participations, Brazil ended its participation in the show, held this Saturday (04), in Los Angeles (USA), with two wins and one loss. Renato Moicano finished Cub swanson at 4m15s of the first round. Thiago Marreta surpassed the North American debutant Kevin holland in the unanimous decision of the judges (29-27, 29-27, 29-26). Meanwhile, the Iron Lady, Polyana viana lost to JJ Aldrich by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28 and 29-27).
In the preliminary program, the Brazilian athletes had already done well and won three victories with: Sheymon Moraes, Ricardo Carcacinha e Peter Munhoz.

In his biggest fight of his career, the Brazilian Renato Moicano finished the experienced Cub swanson at 4m15s of the first round. By overcoming his rival, the Brasilia native achieved his second consecutive victory in Ultimate. After throwing a jab that knocked down and almost knocked out the North American, the Brazilian applied a rear naked choke that ended the duel. Still in the octagon, the American Top Team athlete asked for a rematch against Brian ortega, responsible for the only setback of his career, for the interim belt in the category.
The first round began with a frank exchange between the athletes. While Swanson kicked low, Moicano put his right on top. Due to his experience, the North American sought to impose himself on the Brazilian who reacted with low kicks, high kicks and direct kicks. Even though he looked better in the fight, Swanson received a jab and went to the ground, almost unconscious. Upon seeing this, Renato attacked with ground and pound blows, but his rival managed to escape and stay on his feet. In order not to lose the advantage, the Brazilian applied the takedown, transitioned to the back, and then secured the choke with a rear-naked choke.

the experienced Thiago Marreta in his 15th UFC fight, he overcame the North American newcomer Kevin holland. The Brazilian won the unanimous decision of the judges (29-27, 29-27, 29-26). The former TUF Brasil player adds another triumph to his record and has 18 successes and five defeats. After the duel, the Rio native informed Ultimate that he will be ready for the UFC in New York in November if any middleweight gets injured.
From the first moments, the rivals showed courage and risked low shots. The Brazilian landed a strong shot at the North American. Holland tried to pedal Marreta, who was looking for takedowns to defend himself. Even with pressure from Kevin, Thiago showed speed and power. During the fight, the opponents even exchanged a few words. With the end of the initial period, Thiago managed to land a punch on his opponent's waist and grab him on the back.
The second round started with two kicks from Marreta hitting Holland. When kicking each other, the Brazilian hit his rival's private parts and the sound was heard throughout the stadium. Next, Thiago took his opponent down, worked in half guard and mounted his opponent. Maintaining his position, the carioca took Kevin away from the railing, even so he managed to gain momentum and got back on his feet. Provoking the Brazilian, the North American looked contemptuous when he was hit, but when Marreta landed a strong kick on his waist he had no way to hide it. With his knowledge of Muay Thai, the former TUF Brazil participant placed his rival on the cage and threw knees to the thigh. Holland managed to spin and left the Brazilian in trouble by lassoing his neck, who left and waited for the second half to end.
With a great opponent, Marreta's tactic was to hit Holland's head and body in the third round. Thiago took the takedown and hit his opponent in half guard, who was also giving up his back. The carioca tried to do the kata-gatame, but the crowd became impatient for the ground game. The fight returned to standing, and the rivals remained in a frank exchange. Until Marreta landed strong crosses, while Kevin couldn't find the Brazilian. At the end of the fight, Thiago put the fight on the ground and managed to beat his opponent with ground and pound. The Brazilian managed to lasso Holland's neck, threw his hips aside and launched the kata-gatame that was defended by the North American 40 seconds before the end of the fight.

After an impressive debut, Polyana viana was surpassed by JJ Aldrich on the main card of UFC 227 this Saturday. The Brazilian had a good first round, but she exposed her flaws and the North American took advantage of this to turn the game around. Thus, the flyweight won by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28 and 29-27).
In the first round, Polyana controlled the distance to her opponent in the first moments. The Brazilian managed to dodge Aldrich's blows, who tried kicks to the waistline and jab and straight combinations without any effectiveness. At a disadvantage, the North American closed the distance and pulled the Brazilian into her clinch. With that, she was knocked down. With little to go before the end of the first half, Viana tried a guillotine that didn't fit, but gained the advantage, as her rival fell within her guard. She went for an attack on the arm, but there was no more time.
Trying to avoid JJ's strategy, Polyana stayed in the center of the cage. The Brazilian put in the best shots, but let the North American close the distance and worked on the cliché on the fence. Polyana managed to get out of the grip, but received hard blows.
A straight left hit the Brazilian's face, which she felt, but resisted. In her attacks, Viana kept her guard down and was the victim of Aldrich's attacks. In the final seconds, the Iron Lady went for the takedown, took half guard and, when trying to get out on the arm, fell underneath.
In the last round, the North American came back even more confident. Standing up, Aldrich hit the Brazilian in the face with the counterattack. The Brazilian gave up the exchange and took guard, but was unable to reverse the game. With the fight on the feet again, JJ connected with a straight shot to the Brazilian's face. Viana was no longer able to pose a threat to her rival.
