The focus of the featherweight champion, Max Holloway at the moment, he is trying to keep the belt against the undefeated Brian ortega at UFC 226 on July 7. “Of course I will definitely go up. It's just a matter of time, who stays at 145 and then medically, too. There are a lot of questions we can sit down and talk about with the UFC after this fight, but first things first I have to deal with at 145, a throne to defend and I have one of the biggest fights of my life next week,” he explained.

Holloway's first fight in the lightweight division would take place in April against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 223. This plan was scrapped when he was unable to make weight for the fight.

With the move to the new division, Blessed foresees a new meeting with Nurmagomedov, although he understands that there are many other worthy competitors at the front of the line at lightweight.

“If we go there, who would I fight? I don't know who they want me to fight. There's Khabib or whoever. We’ll see what happens”, concluded Max.
