Expectations were high and the fight between Donald Cerrone against Leon edwards did not disappoint. The welterweights fought a true, intense battle during the 25 minutes of the contest. In the end, Edwards won by unanimous decision from the judges (48-47, 48-47, 48-47). The fight was the main attraction of the UFC Singapore, an event held this Saturday morning (Brasília time) (23), in Southeast Asia.

Brazil was represented by two athletes on the preliminary card of the show, who left the fighting area defeated. Viviane Sucuri lost yan xiaonan in the unanimous decision of the judges, while Felipe Sertanejo fell to Yadong Song via technical knockout in the second round.

And that was exactly what Leon edwards did in the first round. He worked kicks to the waistline and hard punches to the face. In less than two minutes, 'Cowboy's' eye was swollen. In the second round, Edwards returned to working with kicks from the waistline and put pressure on the clinch, when he opened a cut on Cerrone's face after connecting with a knee. Cowboy tried to change the level of the fight and looked for the takedown, but to no avail.

Edwards continued to pressure Cerrone at the beginning of the third round and landed the best shots. Despite this, the North American did not back down and showed his already known courage, walking forward. The Cowboy tried to take it down again, but Edwards showed that the defense is up to scratch.

In the fourth round, Cerrone returned more aggressive and took the initiative in the dispute. The Jamaican tried to work with strikes around the waist, but Donald was more offensive. The American still took Edwards down at the end of the round, but the Jamaican quickly got up.

In the fifth round, Cerrone maintained his good momentum from the previous round. He walked forward, threw good punches and even managed a takedown, but, again, Edwards got up. In turn, Leon abused moving around the Octagon to avoid being hit. In the final seconds, Cowboy provoked his rival and challenged him to a straight fight, but he didn't have time for the knockout.

St. Preux submits Tyson Pedro

In the second most anticipated fight of the UFC Singapore, the Haitian Ovince St Preux he suffered, he was almost knocked out, but he left the octagon with his arm raised in the fight against Tyson Peter. The Australian fighter started the fight better and came close to knocking out St. Preux. He feinted a high kick, connected with a straight blow to the Haitian's face, which shook him. However, Tyson attempted the takedown and ended up falling on the bottom. Ovince took advantage of the moment, reached half guard, his favorite position, and quickly attacked Kimura to finish the fight in 2m54s.

The result marked the recovery of OSP, which was experiencing a setback against Ilir Latifi, in February. On the other hand, for the rise of Tyson Peter, who in his last performance saw him defeated Saparbek Safarov, at UFC 221.
