Markus Maluko's debut in Ultimate was not favorable for the fighter as he was defeated Erik Anders at UFC Fresno in December 2017. Now the Brazilian wants to show the UFC his value after a rear-naked choke victory over James Bochnovic in the first round during the UFC Rio preliminary card. With the submission, the student of Demian Maia what bigger challenges in the organization and intends to fight as quickly as possible.
“Man, I don’t have this challenge thing (with other fighters). I want to fight, come back and fight as quickly as possible. Fight hard and let the event use me. They have always supported me and I hope it stays that way. If I can fight every month, I'm there (laughs)”, said Markus in an interview with the website “Tatame”.

The Brazilian fighter also explained how he trained for the fight against Brochnovic at UFC Rio. “This was a fight where I had the preparation I always do, I trained with my usual team, and this happened, the submission. Anyone who knows Jiu-Jitsu there in Vila da Luta knows that it is all about the game of Demian Maia, and anyone who knows Jiu-Jitsu knows that his (Demian) game is from the back, so it was all the result of training”, he concluded.
Markus Perez has a record of 11 fights, 10 wins and one loss. The triumphs were four submissions, three knockouts and three by judge's decision.
