Khabib Nurmagomedov do not see Conor McGregor as a possible challenger for the UFC lightweight title. The Russian believes that the Irishman is undervalued after the attack on the UFC bus in Brooklyn and because the Russian has been out of action for almost two years. In an interview with the “MMA Fighting” website, the businessman representing Nurmagomedov, Ali Abdelaziz admitted that Khabib wants Georges St-Pierre as his opponent.

“We believe that the fight to be made is against Georges St-Pierre at lightweight. Khabib wants to fight for his legacy, not to be part of a dramatic show. We think that Conor McGregor He doesn't deserve to get this chance. He hasn't fought in almost two years. Why should he get the title shot? What he has to do is fall in line and work to earn that right”, explained Ali.

Despite the champion's decision, the Canadian fighter Georges St Pierre has health problems. He claimed to have an ulcer that he contracted during camp to fight against Michael Bisping at UFC 217.

Abdelaziz said that the only reason that would make Khabib accept the fight against Conor McGregor would be punishing him for his actions at UFC 223. “There is only one reason why Khabib wants to face Conor McGregor: make him pay for what he did in Brooklyn. For Khabib, discipline comes before money. That said, the UFC should talk to Georges St-Pierre, not Conor,” he concluded.
