Seeking to popularize the UFC in the United States and find new fighters, Ultimate created the program The Ultimate Fighter 'TUF' in 2005. The first edition brought the following fighters to the organization: Forrest griffin, Stephan bonnar, Kenny Florian and Josh Koshcheck. Since then, many fighters have emerged from TUF. In an interview with the website MMAJunkie, UFC president Dana White said that The Ultimate Fighter could have its last edition in 2018.
With the new contract with ESPN in the United States, the UFC must also change the programs offered to the channel. These changes should also affect TUF. "We do not know yet. Let's get to the most recent season of 'The Ultimate Fighter'. It could be the last. 'TUF' ran for 13 years. It’s incredible”, said Dana White.

TUF also had three editions in Brazil that were broadcast on TV Globo on Sundays. The program brought to the organization: Ron Jason, Mutant Caesar, Leo Santos, Warlley alves, Antonio Shoe Guy, Glaico Nego França, Reginaldo Vieira, Sergio Moraes and Francisco “massaranduba".
One of the products created by Ultimate that must be maintained is the digital platform, the 'Fight Pass'. Even if ESPN broadcasts the events via streaming, 'Fight Pass' will continue with a library of UFC fights.
“Fight Pass is going to be the destination for the entire library and it's where you can go and watch any fight you want or any other content we have there. So, the same thing will continue. And this deal with ESPN is only for the United States. So, Fight Pass is the rest of the world”, said Dana.
In Brazil, Combate offers a collection of old fights and some UFC programs through 'Combate Play'.
