In an interview with the website 'MMA Junkie', Nina explained that if she had lost her third fight in a row for the UFC, she would have abandoned the sport. The athlete also reported that many fighters at the beginning of their careers think about leaving the sport after going through bad times. “If I had lost that third fight in a row I probably would have retired and started a family,” she said.

“A lot of fighters end up giving in, 'I lost, that's horrible'. Everyone trains MMA nowadays. They are high-level opponents, you will win sometimes and lose others. That's how this sport is. If you let this affect your head too much, you are ruined”, said Nina.
