Cezar Mutante believes he deserves to be in the TOP 15 middleweights

One of the highlights of UFC 224 in Rio de Janeiro was the fighter Cezar Mutant who defeated the North American, Karl Robertson. The Brazilian ended the fight in the first round with a katagatame. The clash was the last on the preliminary card. With the victory, Mutante achieved two consecutive victories in Ultimate.

In an interview with the Tatame website, Cezar said that he considered retirement after a back injury. “I'm very happy with my victory, with my performance, mainly because I managed to do everything I trained for in the gym. So, more than finishing, putting on a good fight, I'm happy because of that. After everything I've been through, all I've overcome, I was on the verge of retiring because of a back injury. Everyone who sees the X-ray of my spine doesn’t believe how I can do, to this day, what I do,” he said.

The fighter from Minas Gerais claims to be ready for the next fight, as he wasn't injured in the fight at UFC 224. “I'm fine, I wasn't hurt in the fight, but I believe I've already said what I had to say. Now I have to wait for the UFC to schedule my next fight, but I hope to have a spot to fight at Fight Week in Las Vegas (in July). Whoever wants to be champion needs to be willing to face any fighter, at any time and place,” he explained.
