After turning down two fights, Mexican featherweight Yair Rodríguez is no longer part of the UFC. The “Los Angeles Times” newspaper released the information on Friday (11) and confirmed by the president of Ultimate, Dana White.

The Mexican hadn't fought for almost a year and skipped fights against Ricardo Lamas and Zabit Magomedsharipov. The reason for dismissal was the second refusal to fight. The confrontation against Magomedsharipov had already been announced for UFC 227, on August XNUMXth in Los Angeles.
“This guy has been out of action for a year, rejected a fight against Ricardo Lamas, and now he doesn't want to face a fighter who is below him in the rankings? He can look for another place to fight. He is no longer of use to us. He called it 'fake news'. So this is the real news,” said Dana White.
The Mexican fighter has not yet commented on his dismissal.
Yair Rodríguez has a record of 12 fights, with ten wins and two losses. His last fight in the UFC was a loss to Frankie Edgar, on May 13, 2017 at UFC 211.
