A night for Brazil to forget at UFC Fight Night Atlantic City, an event held this Saturday night (21), in New Jersey (USA). With three athletes from the country on the fight program, they all left the Octagon knocked out. In the main attraction of the night, the North American Kevin Lee survived the dreaded rolling kick from Edson Barboza, abused the takedowns and won the contest due to medical interruption in the fifth round due to a huge swelling in the Nova Friburgo athlete's eye.
Before Edson, Thiago Marreta he was beaten by David Branch on the main card, while Luan Chagas fell against Afghan Siyar Bahadurzada on the preliminary program.

The duel of styles became clear right at the beginning of the confrontation between Kevin Lee e Edson Barboza. In the first minute of the fight, the North American didn't want to risk fighting on his feet and quickly closed the distance, attacked his legs and managed to get the takedown. On the ground, Lee did what he wanted. Faced with Barboza with a completely open guard, Kevin took a stance, passed the guard and threw several punches from above until the bell sounded. At this point, the Brazilian athlete already had a small cut near his eye.
With Edson worn out due to the punishment in the first round, Lee tried to take a risk in the fight on the feet at the beginning of the second round. He landed good punches in the exchange of blows and connected a powerful kick – the Brazilian's main weapon – on Barboza's waistline. Next, the American lifted Edson and pinned him to the ground. On top, Kevin continued to punish with punches and elbows until the end of the partial.
The third round seemed to follow the script of the previous round. The North American increased the pace in the stand-up fight, leaving no time for the Brazilian to unleash his blows. However, when he gave up a little space, Edson Barboza he threw a beautiful round kick and made Kevin literally dance (see the video below). Almost knocked out, he managed to hold on to his legs, take the fight to the ground and stop the momentum of the reaction. Still feeling the kick, Kevin was unable to keep the fight on the ground. In the stand-up restart, the Nova Friburgo athlete lowered his guard and tried to call on his rival to launch the counterattack, but the North American showed intelligence, attacked just with confidence and cooled Edson's good moment.

In the fourth round, Barboza tried to repeat his good moment and even connected with a good right cross to Lee's head. But the North American didn't take any chances, he put the Brazilian against the bars and took him down. He once again completely dominated the contest on top. Due to several elbows, the Brazilian suffered a large cut near his eye, which became quite swollen.
With the fight lost by the judges' decision, the Brazilian returned to it all or nothing in the fifth round. He threw punches, leg kicks and the dreaded round kick. But Kevin Lee He defended all the attacks and at the first opportunity, he pressed Barboza against the bars and looked for the takedown. At this moment, the Brazilian had his eye practically closed and the referee interrupted the fight so that the doctor could examine the fighter. No conditions to Edson Barboza continue, he interrupted the dispute and declared a technical knockout.
