The rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor took another step towards happening, this time in the UFC Octagon. But anyone who thinks that the dispute will simply be an MMA fight is mistaken. According to a report from “The Sports Journal”, the fight would have special rules.

According to the report, the fight would be in the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg.) with four-ounce MMA gloves and five five-minute rounds. On the other hand, some strikes would be banned, such as: falls, kicks and knees. It would basically be a boxing match inside the octagon with MMA gloves.
The newspaper also reveals how the dispute would be promoted. The UFC would be joined by the athletes' companies: Mayweather Promotions and McGregor Entertainment. Despite advances in negotiations, there is still no prediction of a date or location for the rematch of the superfight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor happen.

Floyd Mayweather built the most successful career in boxing history. The 41-year-old fighter was a 12-time world boxing champion in five different categories. Floyd ended his career with an incredible 50 wins in 50 fights. In his last appearance, he defeated Conor McGregor in the Boxing x MMA superfight, in August last year. Now, the Irishman hopes to have a rematch with 'Money' in his sport.
In turn, McGregor is the main name in the UFC today. The Irishman was the first fighter to win two belts at the event simultaneously – featherweight (up to 65,7 kg) and lightweight (up to 70,3 kg.). He has an MMA record of 21 wins and three losses.
