Matt Baker recently signed with Brave and will soon have the opportunity to challenge for the light heavyweight belt when he faces current champion Klidson de Abreu at Brave 11, which will take place next Friday, April 13th, in Belo Horizonte. Used to fighting in enemy territory, the Canadian guarantees that he will not be intimidated by the fans in favor of his opponent.

Despite training most of his time in Canada, “The Riot Maker” has lived in Brazil and occasionally trains with the Pitbull brothers, in Natal (RN). Baker guarantees to be prepared for the crowd's hostility, as he has experience fighting on Brazilian soil.

“I've lived in Rio de Janeiro for many years, I train in Natal and I've fought in Brazil. I'm used to fighting away from home. I know that, on Friday, I won't be the crowd's favorite. I’m already prepared to hear “uh, he’s going to die” (laughs). But I know that when I beat him and I'm inside the Brave cage with my new belt, everyone will respect me”, declared the Canadian, who hopes to submit Klidson to get close to black belt.

“I’m a purple belt in Bibiano Fernandes, who is like a father to me. He doesn't give a black belt to just anyone and I really want to be part of this select group. I know that I will have the respect of my master when I finish Klidson and I will be closer to that goal. I want the shiny Brave belt, but I also want to, one day, reach black belt”, commented the Canadian.
